Data engineering helps make data more useful and accessible for consumers of data. Data engineering involves data collection methods, designing enterprise data storage and retrieval. The core data science subjects focus on data analytics, visualization, predictive modeling and analytics for data-driven decision making.
Example: Data stored in a relational database is managed as tables, like a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.

Heat sinks

A heat sink is a component that increases the heat flow away from a hot device. It accomplishes this task by increasing the device's working surface area and the amount of low-temperature fluid that moves across its enlarged surface area.
Example: In computers, heat sinks are used to cool CPUs, GPUs, and some chipsets and RAM modules.

Materials are considered to be isotropic if the properties are not dependent on the direction.
Example: Bulk metals (extruded, cast, forged) are considered isotropic for stiffness and conductivity.

Meshing is an integral part of the computer-aided engineering (CAE) simulation process. The mesh influences the accuracy, convergence and speed of the solution. Furthermore, the time it takes to create a mesh model is often a significant portion of the time it takes to get results from a CAE solution. Therefore, the better and more automated the meshing tools, the better the solution.
Example: Meshing is the process of turning irregular shapes into more recognizable volumes called “elements.”

Specific heat
Noun
The specific heat of a material is the amount of energy required to raise the temperature of a single unit of mass of the material 1 degree. This property is applicable to all thermal elements. This property is required for a transient heat transfer analysis and for parts designated as a fluid when incorporating fluid effects in a thermal analysis.
Example: Substances having a small specific heat capacity, are very useful as material in cooking instruments such as frying pans, pots, kettles and so on, because, when small amount of heat is applied it will heat quickly.

Thermal conductivity
Noun
The thermal conductivity of a material is a measure of its ability to conduct heat. Heat transfer occurs at a lower rate in materials of low thermal conductivity than in materials of high thermal conductivity.
Example: Metals typically have high thermal conductivity and are very efficient at conducting heat.
